Spring Valley is Claris' first level and one of the two levels available to be played at the beginning of the game.
Spring Valley is set in a windy montainous region rich in water and vegetation. Sparkling water from the melted snow in the mountain flows through the low points. Some areas in this level will turn into small hills and knock Claris if she steps on them.
The Nightopians and Mepians in this level can be seen singing, dancing, rolling, walking, whistling, clapping, making bubbles and fishing cake.
This dream world is said to be created after Claris' high admiration for her father, her "ideal". [1] The level's music theme may also be hitting that, as it is called "Paternal Horn".
The enemies that can be found in this level are the Shleeps, Hollows and Kircles. The boss of this dream is Gillwing.
At the end of the game, Elliot and Claris are transported to Spring Valley after defeating Wizeman (though, only in the secret ending). When Elliot is transported to Spring Valley, he looks around and sights Claris fainted. Once he reaches her, Elliot carries Claris on his arms and leaves her under a tree. Shortly after, Elliot starts fading away because he is waking up. As soon as Claris wakes up, Elliot turns his back to her and disappears.
Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams
In the holiday-themed Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams game sampler, Spring Valley is the only stage available in the game's main story mode, where it is covered with snow. However, unlike NiGHTS into Dreams, the stage can be played with both Claris and Elliot. While the stage remains unchanged when playing as Claris, the path is altered when playing as Elliot.
Other Appearances
NiGHTS Archie Comics: Spring Valley was one of the two levels to appear in the NiGHTS' Archie Comics. The other was Twin Seeds. Both Elliot and Claris appear in it.
NiGHTS: Flying Through the Sky Without Wings: Most of the events that happen in the storybook NiGHTS: Flying Through the Sky Without Wings, takes place on Spring Valley. Curiously, Spring Valley is an Elliot's dreamworld in the storybook.
Burning Rangers: There is a square called "Spring Valley Square" which appears in the third mission of the game.[2]
Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure DX: Spring Valley made a brief appearance in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure DX in the NiGHTS thematic pinball table from Casinopolis. When Sonic falls out of the second floor of the table, he will pass through Spring Valley before falling into the first one again.
Sega Superstars: There's a mini game in Sega Superstars where the player controls NiGHTS through Spring Valley.
Phantasy Star Online and Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg: Both games feature an 8-bit NiGHTS into Dreams mini game called NiGHTS ~ Score Attack ~ where the player controls NiGHTS through Spring Valley.
Spring Valley in Sonic Pinball Party.
Sonic Pinball Party: Spring Valley appeared as a pinball table in the game, with Gillwing appearing as its boss. The Spring Valley table was also the only NiGHTS-themed table to appear in the story mode, appearing in the match against brainwashed Amy Rose.
Sonic The Hedgehog #30 Anniversary - Seasons of Chaos: The events of this Sonic the Hedgehog comic takes place in a zone called "Spring Valley zone", which even features Badnik versions of Shleeps, Hollows and the Alarm Egg.

Interestly, the Nightopians may build a snowman version of an unknown never before seen character in the Christmas NiGHTS version of Spring Valley.
The Nightopians may also build this same snowman character in Frozen Bell.
Elliot has made more appearances in Spring Valley than Claris, despite the level being a Claris dreamworld. Elliot appeared in Spring Valley in NiGHTS into Dreams (during some cutscenes), Christmas NiGHTS into Dreams, in the NiGHTS Archie comics and in the NiGHTS storybook.
A reference to Spring Valley in the Sonic the Hedgehog movie.
In the 2020 live action Sonic the Hedgehog movie, the baseball playoffs had the local team Green Hills against the visiting team called Spring Valley.
In the Beta version of the game, Puffy is Spring Valley's boss.[4]
